ECN partcipates in community 5k to promote health in the workplace and coworker bonding

Emergency Communications Network (ECN), a mass notification system provider, will be attending the Biggest Office Party in Volusia County on Friday, Nov. 8. Four ECN staff members will be lacing up their running shoes and participating in the inaugural Volusia County Corporate 5k run or walk. The Volusia Flagler Family YMCA is presenting the event as a way for beginner and experienced athletes from local businesses to come together and promote health in the workplace.

The event will start at 6:30 p.m. at City Island in Daytona Beach, where there will be music, food, fun and drinks. An award ceremony will follow the end of the race and all finishers will receive a medal. Other awards include top three in each age group, overall male and female and overall team in each division. ECN staff members will be competing in the miscellaneous division.

“I just think it’s a good thing. You know, you build friendships in the office and it’s nice to just do things outside of the office,” said Angela Daidone, an ECN marketing specialist who will be running in the 5k.

Final Mile Race Management organized the 5k and Halifax Health is the primary sponsor.
