Leanne Siegfried, General Counsel at Emergency Communications Network (ECN), a mass notification system provider, received the University of Florida’s Gator Alumni Leader of the Year award in recognition for her leadership as the first female President of the Volusia County Gator Club.

October will mark Siegfried’s 1-year anniversary as General Counsel at ECN. Siegfried administers all of the legal matters at ECN, from contract interpretation to handling the due diligence of company acquisitions. She takes pride in working for an organization located in her Ormond Beach hometown that has helped to alert, inform and affect the lives of millions of Americans through accurate, high-speed mass notification services for thousands of client communities in the U.S. and Canada. Her professionalism and passion is unmistakable at ECN. It is those same qualities that awarded her the title of Gator Alumni Leader of the Year.

The Gator Alumni Leader of the Year award is a national award presented to one individual who exemplifies strong leadership qualities. The University of Florida Alumni Association decides who receives the award by looking at the annual reports submitted by the alumni leaders from various alumni clubs throughout the nation. After reviewing annual reports, the Association decides who performed the best service for the year.

Siegfried was presented the award at the Gators Award Gala on July 14, 2012 during Florida Forward weekend held at the Fontainebleau in Miami. Florida Forward is a time for active alumni and members of the Alumni Association to gather together to share community ideas.

Siegfried graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations in 2002 and a Masters in Management in 2004. She graduated cum laude from the university in 2007 with a law degree. Following her 2007 graduation, she joined the Volusia County Gator Club as co-chair of the Florida Young and Involved Section.

The local Gator Club has been sanctioned for more than 20 years. Siegfried received the title of President in 2010. Currently she is serving as Immediate Past President and Webmaster. Click here to find out more information about the Volusia County Gator Club.
