Send Word Now announced today that it is the first notification provider in the industry to have successfully completed a SSAE 16 audit. The SSAE 16 (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagement No. 16) is a widely recognized attestation engagement standard for service organizations and was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AIPCA). It replaces the SAS 70 reporting standard in June 2011.

“Our clean SSAE 16 SOC 1 Type 2 report reinforces our commitment to security, dependability, and customer support,” said Tony Schmitz, President and CEO of Send Word Now. “We pride ourselves on not only meeting, but routinely surpassing the highest industry standards, and we will continue to improve on our best-in-class services to maintain customer satisfaction.”

The SSAE 16 SOC 1 Type 2 report validates that the company’s controls have been tested over an extended period of time. It examines the controls within an organization that are likely to be relevant to its customers’ internal controls over financial reporting. Send Word Now’s infrastructure and internal controls were tested over a twelve month period by an independent national accounting firm. Some control objectives tested included system availability, customer reporting, and network security.

Send Word Now is the first notification provider in the industry to have received a clean SOC 1 SSAE 16 Type 2 report.

“Send Word Now will continue to lead the market with its investments in technology, infrastructure, and capacity,” concluded Tony Schmitz, “and we look forward to working closely with the respected team from Gartner for many years to come.”
