We are proud to announce that the paper written by our very own Tony Schmitz, Send Word Now President and CEO, has been shortlisted in the “Business Continuity Paper of the Year” competition hosted by Continuity Central and the Business Continuity and Resiliency Journal!
The paper, entitled “What is Social Media’s Role in Business Continuity?,” takes a look at the upsides and downsides of social media use in the crisis management arena. It also examines concrete examples of how social media may be used to enhance conventional emergency notification tools in the future.
The Business Continuity Paper of the Year competition, which first took place in 2010, employs a vigorous process to discover the best new business continuity articles and papers from around the globe. This year, papers were judged by David Honour, editor of both Continuity Central and the Business Continuity and Resiliency Journal, and by judges drawn from the Business Continuity and Resiliency Journal’s editorial review panel.
You can read the winning paper and and the five short-listed papers in latest issue of the Business Continuity and Resiliency Journal, which is available here. For a synopsis of the contest and the six finalist papers, visit the Continuity Central website. We hope that you will take a look!
