CodeRED Delivers Safety Alerts and Updates During Daytona 500

Industry leader in the delivery of safety alerts, critical communications and emergency notifications enables local agencies to keep residents and visitors informed and safe

Ormond Beach, FL – [February 24, 2017] – Emergency Communications Network (ECN), a global leader in mission-critical and mass notification with solutions including CodeRED, SmartNotice and MIR3, is honored to continue its support of the Daytona Beach area as the city prepares to host an influx of as many as 250,000 out-of-town guests for the Daytona 500. Before, during and after the event, ECN’s CodeRED solution and mobile application is available to residents and visitors of Daytona Beach to receive any critical notifications or alerts from Daytona Beach, Florida and other adjoining jurisdictions.

The Daytona 500 is an annual, 500-mile-long (805 km) Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series motor race held at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida every February. It is estimated that more than 60 percent of Daytona 500 attendees travel from outside the state of Florida, and more than 50 percent of attendees stay five or more nights in Florida during their visit. Because Volusia County, home to the city of Daytona, is committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of all its guests, it has the ability to use CodeRED for any critical communications from a number of local agencies and governments.

“CodeRED is the best possible way to keep both residents and visitors throughout the region apprised of traffic notifications, weather warnings, emergency alerts, and other updates throughout the event,” said Daniel Graff-Radford, Chief Product Officer of ECN. “CodeRED works in close collaboration with local organizations including public safety, law enforcement, first responders and others, to deliver fast, geo-relevant notifications.” These organizations can also use CodeRED to communicate with staff spread across the region to improve incident response and outcomes.

Residents, Daytona 500 staff and visitors, are encouraged to register for text, email, and phone messages, and to download the free CodeRED Mobile Alert app at the Google Play or App Store.
