CodeRED Mobile Alert App Incorporates Advanced Weather Imagery
Ormond Beach, FL – [August 3, 2016] – Emergency Communications Network (ECN), the largest global provider of critical and mass notification systems, has added state-of-the-art radar and satellite imagery to its CodeRED Mobile Alert app for weather subscribers. This enhancement provides a more detailed and comprehensive look at weather conditions and coverage of any location – directly from a user’s personal mobile device.
“The CodeRED Mobile Alert app is relied upon by more people than any other public safety notification app on the market, helping to keep residents around the country up-to-date with time-sensitive safety notifications. The app includes an add-on weather subscription designed to help subscribers stay on top of current and changing environmental conditions,” said Troy Harper, Product Manager for CodeRED. “In order to continue delivering greater value to our weather subscribers, we have embedded continental U.S. radar and worldwide satellite views into the application to allow users access to additional layers of detail, staying better informed of significant local weather events.”
When current CodeRED weather subscribers visit their settings, they now have the option to view radar or satellite images on the map overlay. The radar setting depicts the most recent weather patterns from the previous hour across the continental U.S., while the satellite setting provides an overview of the last 24 hours worldwide via the interactive map.
The CodeRED Mobile Alert app can be downloaded for free through the Apple Store or Google Play, and individuals can subscribe to enhanced geo-targeted weather information for only $.99 a year as an in-app purchase. Individuals are encouraged to take advantage of this new app functionality as they travel around their local jurisdiction, region, or across multiple states to remain informed of ongoing weather conditions and potential hazards or threats in their vicinity.
