CodeRED System Provides Venice, Florida with High Performance Notifications & Weather Warning
Ormond Beach, FL – [February 1, 2016] – Emergency Communications Network (ECN), North America’s largest provider of critical and mass notification systems, is pleased to announce that the city of Venice, Florida is upgrading their services to receive CodeRED Weather Warnings. Previously, the city released information stating the CodeRED system had failed during a recent severe weather incident in December. Upon further investigation, city personnel acknowledged that they were not in fact contracted to receive automated weather warnings.
Working alongside CodeRED personnel in an effort to further enhance the city’s services for its residents, the city of Venice is in the process of instituting automated Weather Warning notifications. Weather Warning automatically delivers advanced warning of severe conditions such as thunderstorms, tornados, flash floods, or tsunamis as soon as a bulletin is issued by the National Weather Service. The system delivers voice calls, text messages, and emails to subscribed users within the projected path of the storm. These messages provide residents with the extra time needed to better prepare.
