Emergency Communications Network teams up with Pearson for enhanced K-12 communication

ECN has announced its independent software vendor (ISV) partnership agreement with Pearson. This collaboration will provide customers of PowerSchool, the industry-leading student information system (SIS), with turnkey access to Code-ED. This highly affordable notification tool for K-12 communities allows school districts to seamlessly access their PowerSchool data to quickly reach targeted groups of parents, faculty and staff in a multimodal approach including voice messages, emails and text messages. Authorized school administrators can contact the entire school community within minutes.

“We are very excited about this collaboration, as it allows us to enhance our communication tools within PowerSchool,” states Oliver Wreford, Director of Business Development with the K-12 Technology group of Pearson. “We believe that uniting Code-ED and PowerSchool will allow us to bring additional student data management and communication capabilities to the student populations served.” Both PowerSchool and ECN offer technology trusted by communities in all 50 states.

“Pearson is a market leader in SIS and this collaboration will introduce Code-ED as a cost-effective alternative to existing solutions in the marketplace. As the exclusive parent and staff notification tool with a proven automated weather warning component, we are proud to also raise the bar in school safety and provide school communities the precious extra time to prepare when they are threatened by a severe weather event,” says David DiGiacomo, ECN President.
