Ann Pickren, Recognized Industry Leader, Appointed Chief Operating Officer for MIR3

Pickren responsible for overseeing sales, business development and marketing for the premier provider of enterprise automated notification systems.

SAN DIEGO (April 15, 2014) – MIR3, Inc., the innovator of real-time Intelligent Notification (IN®) and response technology, today announced that Ann Pickren, former SVP of solutions for MIR3, is stepping into the  role of chief operating officer (COO). As COO, Pickren will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s operations including sales, marketing, and product management.

Ann will continue to directly engage with MIR3 customers to help develop best practices for their enterprise notification platform needs in addition to overseeing global sales operations, which include sales engineering, direct sales, OEM and channel sales. She will also apply her more than 20 years of experience in the crisis communication, enterprise application and notification industries towards business development and marketing oversight for the company.

Prior to joining MIR3, Pickren served as executive vice president at Firestorm Solutions, an organization that provides business continuity consulting, vulnerability analysis, risk mitigation and crisis management guidance to corporations, schools and universities. At Firestorm she oversaw the development of business continuity, crisis management methodology and delivery of all client services to ensure the best application of the company’s services.

Pickren is known throughout the industry for her achievements at some of the world’s leading software and technology services companies, including SunGard Availability, and Comdisco. In previous roles, she has been responsible for business development, consulting engagement delivery and the management of professional staff.

Currently a board member of the BCI U.S. chapter, Pickren also serves as an advisory board member for BC Management Inc., the only executive search firm that specializes in business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, risk management, and information security careers. She was also a member of the Organizational Resilience Maturity Technical Committee within ASIS International, an organization dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security professionals by developing educational programs and materials that address broad security interests.

With an MBA from Georgia State University, Pickren’s undergraduate studies focused in math and statistics. She is active within her community as a volunteer with the Drake House, which provides short-term crisis housing, assessment, support, and empowerment to homeless mothers and their children, and she is also involved with North Fulton Community Charities.
